Dance Residencies at the Dancehouse Lefkosia :
DANCEHOUSE LEFKOSIA would like to announce its first RESIDENCY PROGRAMME for Cyprus dancers/ choreographers for 2014!
This programme aspires to be the first step toward the creation of exchanges between Cyprus Dancers Choreographers and other European Dancers Choreographers between Dancehouse Lefkosia and other European Dancehouses within the net workings created- as a result of this - in the very near future..
To whom is Addressed
The programme Dance residencies 2014 at the DANCEHOUSE LEFKOSIA is addressed to young choreographers but also other more established artists/ dancers- choreographers.
The aim of the residency programme is to offer the selected choreographers/ dancers the premises of the Dancehouse Lefkosia as a space to research, create and present their working process.
The programme aims to support Choreographers / Dancers with less opportunities or access public funding or spaces to present their ongoing work and their working progress. .
Amount of Choreographers selected for 2014.
The Dancehouse Lefkosia aims to offer four residencies in the months of April and September 2014
The four choreographers selected will have the chance to present their work and work in progress and aspirations to the wider public.
This presentation will take place toward the end of the months of April and September
AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT
The audience will have the opportunity in a question and answer forum with the presence of a moderator,
To ask the selected dancers/ choreographers during these open presentations and find out more about the work and aspirations of dance today as an art form - as a contemporary art form TODAY, thus creating and offering the ground for audience development in Nicosia and Cyprus on the whole.
