OpEN PLUS+ platform , by VERAMàND STUDIO, welcomes ideas and proposals for collaborations that promote innovative practises in Arts, Business and Technology. VERAMàND STUDIO is very happy to officially inaugurate the OpEN PLUS+ platform on the occasion of collaborating with Dance Gate Lefkosia Cyprus - founding member of Dancehouse Lefkosia, associate member of the European Dancehouse Network and a partner of the EU-funded project Modul-Dance - and offer a workshop and a lecture on site specific work led by internationally acclaimed Modul-Dance artists Angie Hiesl and Roland Kaiser.
“A space or location is the centre point on which movement and performance improvisations will focus. The relationship between body, space and emerging images will be explored – sight and site, perspective and perception of one’s self and the surrounding area will lead to the specific approach of the space we work in. Movement and bodily expression follow the influence and the character of the space. The space is media and part of the creation itself. The participants of the workshop will have the possibility to explore in various ways their individual approaches to site-specificity. Please be prepared for some outdoor improvisation work.
As the last part of the encounter Hiesl and Kaiser will present on film and discuss their latest artistic works.”
Angie Hiesl is a worldwide known artist/director/choreographer, known especially for her international site specific projects. Angie, and her artistic partner Roland Kaiser, will be in Nicosia from 6 to 18 February working on the subject of transgender and transsexuality as part of their research as selected Modul-Dance artists. Their being here is part of the Research Modul offered to them by Dance Gate Lefkosia Cyprus as partners of the EU funded programme Modul-Dance and in collaboration with the University of Nicosia and the Mediterranean Institute for Gender Studies.
We are happy that OpEN PLUS+ platform ha the possibility to offer this workshop at the very low rate of 25 euros , also as a gesture of evolution against recession.
